Microlearning Series

The Challenge

The current on-demand learning paths were curated content that was predominately external material and/or off the shelf content wrapped into an eLearning course built in Articulate RISE. These learning paths were mapped to the organization's Global Core Competencies and was the primary training resource provided to all employees.

 

Consistent feedback from learners was that it was hard to make time for learning and the courses were too long. They also felt that it was not customized to the organization leading to low usage and low course ratings.

The Solution

Redesigned learning paths to introduce the global core competencies in a way that was specific to how the organization defined the skills and abilities needed to demonstrate the competencies at each proficiency level. 

 

The learning paths were broken out into bite-sized micro-courses (3-10 minutes) packaged in topical catalogs making it easier for learners to search for focused and targeted nuggets of information. Micro-courses consisted of videos, interactive eLearnings, job aides, and animated infographics. New catalogs of micro-courses were released monthly in line with the organization's training newsletter.

The Result

Increased efficiency in learners workflow with bite-sized, on-demand content that is easily accessible and mobile-enabled. 

Scalable and flexible solution that provide opportunities to learn faster in a more digestible way.
