How to Manage Remotely eLearning
The Challenge
With COVID-19 lock-downs and working from home regulations, people leaders were in need of training that addressed working and managing their teams in a remote environment. For many leaders, remote work was entirely new, and they were navigating one of the most challenging management situations of their careers.
HR Business Partners and HR Leadership were quickly inundated with requests for training that could be deployed fast and offer concrete, actionable guidance for adapting to the “new normal.” Leaders needed practical tips that acknowledged the varied needs of teams and individuals—without adding to already overwhelming workloads.
The Solution
A just‑in‑time, short, interactive eLearning course was designed to encourage and empower people leaders to cultivate a supportive remote work environment. The experience focused on practical strategies for leading through uncertainty while emphasizing flexibility, empathy, and inclusion across different working situations.
Recognizing that leaders had limited time, the course was intentionally concise and learner‑driven. Learners could control their path through the content, choosing what to explore first, and practice application through real‑life branching scenarios that reflected common remote‑management challenges.
The Result
The bite‑sized, interactive eLearning was designed, developed, and launched within two weeks of identifying the training need—providing immediate support during a critical moment.
Learner feedback was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the practicality and relevance of the content. As a result, the team was asked to create an adapted version for employees and later update the course to reflect the evolving realities of hybrid work—extending the value and longevity of the solution.
