Microlearning Series
The Challenge
The organization’s on-demand learning paths relied heavily on curated external and off-the-shelf content, packaged into Articulate Rise courses and mapped to Global Core Competencies. These learning paths served as the primary training resource for all employees.
However, consistent learner feedback revealed key challenges: employees struggled to find time for learning, courses felt too long, and the content lacked clear relevance to the organization’s context. As a result, engagement was low, reflected in poor usage metrics and low course ratings.
The Solution
The learning paths were reimagined to translate Global Core Competencies into clearly defined, organization-specific skills and behaviors at each proficiency level—ensuring relevance and practical application.
To better fit into employees’ workflows, content was restructured into curated micro-courses ranging from 3–10 minutes. These micro-courses included a mix of videos, interactive eLearning, job aids, and animated infographics, making it easy for learners to quickly find targeted, relevant content. New catalogs were released monthly and promoted through the organization’s training newsletter to drive ongoing engagement.
The Result
The shift to bite-sized, on-demand learning improved workflow efficiency by allowing learners to access relevant content quickly—anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
This scalable and flexible approach supported faster skill development, increased content consumption, and made learning more manageable and sustainable within the flow of work.
